The future interface is activated with hand gestures

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Like Tom Cruise in "Minority Report" or the characters of CSI with large touch screens that allow you to open and manage applications with a simple hand gesture, are but a foretaste of what will be our relationship with technology in the coming years.

This is the idea behind Gesture Cube. As its name suggests, is a cube that you feel what the hand movements, interprets them, and allows us to act with various devices.

In reality nothing more than a prototype, but is fully functional, and shows how you can use to open photos, manage albums of images, select, open music, etc ...

The user zooms in or out the hand of the bucket and moves ahead, while a series of sensors instantly detect the position and transmit the coordinates to the electronics installed inside. Thus, certain predetermined movements can be programmed to perform certain actions such as opening a program or display a photo.

The interesting thing about the application of technology in Gesture Cube is that you can associate a device for each of the faces of the cube.
