"ICT and Disability" Functional Diversity, awarded as best in the TIC blog II Premis Blocs Catalunya 2009

Blog Ebrenc ICT and Disability Carlos Bueno and Pedro Garcia Cabanes Altadill, has been awarded as "Best ICT blog" in the II Premis Blogs Catalunya 2009.

The awards ceremony was held Blocs Catalunya 2009 on Friday 2 October at the Vic. A total of 600 units were eligible for these awards and on September 10 passed a popular vote that he received 20,000 votes chose the finalists from the ten categories.

The blog is part of Ebresfera, territorial community of bloggers and social network built around all the blogs in Terres de l'Ebre, shows the high level production of digital content Ebrencs, and more than a blog, is an information specialist and international transfer of knowledge and helps to disseminate new technologies of information and communication technologies (ICT) for people with disabilities and / or special educational needs in three languages: Catalan, Spanish and English.

That same year, 2009, has been ranked second in the Digital Content Awards II Sant Feliu Online and finalist in Premio Espiral Edublogs 2009.

This blog was born from the concern of the authors, coming from two very different professions, such as Engineering and Occupational Therapy. From the beginning, it was believed the potential ICTs as a tool applicable to functional Diverso people (with disabilities) so that these may be endowed with greater autonomy, enhancing the quality of life of people and not their dependency, creating the blog "ICT and Disability" and later, the company Ebrencs functional diversity, to support this initiative and to help the greatest number of people with dysfunctional situations.
