Between 15 and 16 October 2009, the "International Symposium on Neurorehabilitation: From Basics to the Future" will be held in Valencia, Spain. The Symposium seeks to update the skills of health professionals on neurorehabilitation and promote the use of new technologies to improve outcomes in the rehabilitation of patients with an acquired brain injury. In addition, the Symposium will host speeches from some of the most recognized professionals in the international arena.
They include the presence at the Symposium by Dr. Steven Laureys, a specialist in comatose patients, Dr. Greg Burdea , one of the greatest world specialists in the application of virtual reality to rehabilitation, Dr. Gery Colombo Hocoma president, leading Swiss company for neurorehabilitation robotics, Dr. Keith Cicerone, an expert in neuropsychology, Dr. Randolph J. Nudo, a specialist in brain plasticity, and Dr. Barbara Wilson, a specialist in cognitive rehabilitation and recently awarded by the British Psychological Society for the achievements during his career.
