KAPTEN, A CONVENTIONAL GPS ACCESSIBLE TO ALL

Kapten now available, the GPS receiver is not expected specially adapted for the blind and visually impaired, but accessible to all users, with or without visual impairments.

The Kapten is a device from the French firm Kapsys,http://www.kapsys.com/modules/movie/scenes/home/, very small, which does not need the screen to respond to the user, as it interacts with Kapten the commands through a series of concrete, rendered his own voice, and get all the information of the device through their headphones or a loudspeaker, which will soon be marketed as one of its accessories. The user can also interact with the keyboard, Kaptan it incorporates.

The ability to track GPS navigation included in this receiver is an element of mobility aid for blind people, but never substitute for the guide dog or cane. In pedestrian mode, you should use with caution, since the headset can impair the hearing in public places, which may influence the sense of direction.

But Kaptan features not only GPS, but also MP3 player, sound recorder and FM radio; has compass, accelerometer and pedometer, and all of them are activated by voice messages, or using the keyboard, which makes that its management is very simple. In addition, through bluetooth, you can connect to some mobile phone models and become hands-free import of contacts.

The Kapten comes with the following elements:

- Cables: USB-Micro USB adapter plugs Jack type (3.5 to 2.5 with integrated microphone) and multi-pin adapter.
- Quick Start Guide on paper and in electronic format, within the Kaptan.

- Weight: 50 gr .- 4 Gb of internal memory storage, one used for mapping, and various programs necessary for proper operation.
- Autonomy: GPS: 6 hours. Mp3: 5 hours.
