Screen readers: JAWS, NVDA and TALKS

Monday, June 22, 2009

Today I want to show a video that made me get through Antonio Sacco DISTEC network. It is a short video that shows some of the things you can do a screen reader. For many of us may seem very familiar, but can be useful for someone who has no sense to speak of these products will never support.

In this computer a student 22 years and blind from birth shows the various screen readers for the popular operating systems such as JAWS and NVDA. The latter is free, and you can download it by clicking the link.

We also show an application called Mobile TALKS, which can read text messages, reading the menu ... do more. But this needs a voice synthesizer to work properly. I leave with you a link where to download it, along with a guide to making a good installation.
