A group of students from the Faculty of the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca has developed a device that enables the blind, through the mobile, the content of the listing of drugs and any additional information.

Encompassed under the "Fable" is a talent that allows multimedia content to associate elements of real life, depending on the UPSA hanexplicado today its creators during the presentation of the thirteen research projects developed in this way in " Technological Innovation Club. "

To realize this initiative, the boxes of drugs should carry a card similar to the anti-theft bar codes that will then be read by a mobile phone that has the NFC system.

One of the three promoters of this invention, Jose Maria Perez, has told Efe that "it is something simple and cheap", given that currently the majority of mobile phones with the system necessary for this reading.

Once you pass the phone card that will have the medicine box, the content is downloaded to a mobile sound file and then open and you can hear audio through the entire contents of the prospectus, the name of the drug and its expiration date.

Fernando Sánchez-Guijo for one of the leaders of innovation projects in Salamanca ONCE, "This is a breakthrough that could greatly facilitate the lives of the blind."

Besides this, there are another dozen initiatives developed under the collaboration agreement between the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and the Fundación Caja Duero.

Among those presented, is the "DIAMI" also directed to people with vision problems and has developed as a "Director-based Ambient Intelligence For Blind Musicians."

This is the first system of its kind in the world and to allow, via a cuff placed on the arm of the blind musician, receive real-time instructions from a conductor in a transparent and ubiquitous.

Sánchez-Guijo commented that this is a material "novel" that, although it has been proven in blind with eyes closed, "must be experienced visually."

The problem, added the head of the ONCE, is that so far the organization has not found any blind professional musician in orchestra. "It does not mean that he has not, but we have not found," he warned.

With the new system, Sánchez-Guijo hoped that from now there will be more people with visual impairment in orchestras, "because we can save the big problem he had."

Besides these two projects have become known for the mobile games and even a platform for contact and collaboration between NGOs to know the status of humanitarian projects anywhere in the world ..

Here I leave with you a video demonstration that we had reached Fernando Fernández Fidalgo, engineer and researcher at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca.
