Technological platform to improve the accessibility of the persons with disability

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITYC) has to open today the Spanish Technological Platform for the Independent Life and the Accessibility (eVia), in the context of general Assembly 2008, summoned for the generation of innovative projects that contribute to attaining a level of universal accessibility for all the persons with disability.
As they briefed, the act of inauguration, today it was presided over by the director of Telecommunications and I+D+i of the Association of Companies of Information Technologies and Communications of Spain (AETIC), Juan Gascón, and it had the participation of the director of Universal Accessibility of the Fundation Once and president of eVia, Jesús Hernández, and the general director of Coordination of Sectorial Policies about Disabled of the Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sport (MEPSYD), Juan Carlos Ramiro, both collaborator entities of the project.
In the event, Gascón highlighted the benefits that the new technologies bring to the the persons with disability, in particular, and to the company in general, as well as the numerous studies that guarantee them; in spite of cual, it remembered "the lack of dynamism of this type of dispostives in the market and its scarce penetration" and the need to adopt solutions about this.
In this sense, the platform, inciative of the MICYT, intends to achieve agreements of collaboration among the different companies devoted to the technological areas that the agreement, attaining the active particpación of all the agents necessary for the starting of implimentades solutions, covers.
Finally, the new integration of technologies and the generation of new models of business pointed out that to give meaning to this task it is necessary and facilitated the launch in the market of complete and complex solutions, through the development of projects of innovation "that redound in the benefit of the company in its set and of all collectives that they form it".
